What you most know about your eyes?
There are many things we need to know and understand about our eyes.
The eyes are very important, eye is the major part of sense organ of the body, eye is the sense of sight.
Among the five senses organ of the body, which are eye, ear, nose, tongue, and skin. The most sensitive and important part of the body is the EYES.
There are various diseases and defects fighting your eyes that you most know and find a solution to.
CONJUNCTIVITIS
This is referred to as inflammation of the conjunctiva.
It is commonly due to an allergic reaction or an infection usually bacteria or viral.
It is usually called ‘Pinkeye’
Lines of Action
Saving Eyesight Nationally, Inspiring Opticians to Restore
i). Organize national eye care outreach programs to provide free eye exams, glasses, and treatment to underserved communities.
ii). Develop training programs for opticians to enhance their skills and knowledge in the latest technologies and best practices.
iii). Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to promote eye health awareness and education.
Restore Opticians' Prides and Capacity
i). Develop mentorship programs to pair experienced opticians with newcomers to the profession.
ii). Provide resources and support for opticians to enhance their business management skills.
iii). Organize workshops and conferences to promote continuing education and professional development.
Restore Collaboration and Partnership
i). Foster partnerships with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and optometrists, to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and referral networks.
ii). Develop relationships with industry stakeholders, such as manufacturers and suppliers, to promote access to quality eye care products and services.
Advocacy and Policy Development
i). Advocate for policies and programs that support eye health and vision care.
ii). Collaborate with government agencies and policymakers to develop and implement policies that promote eye health.
iii). Engage with international organizations to promote global awareness and action on eye health issues.
Research and Development
i). Conduct research studies to investigate the prevalence and causes of eye diseases in Nigeria.
ii). Develop and implement new technologies and innovations to improve eye care services.
iii). Collaborate with international research institutions to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in eye care.
Community Engagement
i). Organize community events, such as eye care fairs and awareness campaigns, to promote eye health education and awareness.
ii). Develop partnerships with community-based organizations to reach underserved populations.
iii). Collaborate with schools and educational institutions to integrate eye health education into the curriculum.
